For the purposes of this role play, we will use these sizes as the sizes for our dragons.
Gold- 52-60 ft.
Largest female dragons, the queens. They are the only females who produce eggs. Other dragons will obey a queen's order, even over the wishes of their own rider. Historically, golds always impress females.Bronze- 45-60 ft.
Largest male dragons. Historically, bronzes always impress males. The rider whose bronze mates with the senior gold is the Weyrleader. After a mating flight, the bronzes who lose always seek out a green to mate with.Brown- 38-51 ft.
Male dragons. Historically, browns always impress males. Rarely mate with golds, though it is possible.Blue- 31-38 ft.
The smallest male dragons. Historically, blues always impress males. They only mate with greens and are traditionally Weyrling Masters.Green- 26-31 ft.
Smallest of the dragons. Impress both males and females. Greens are the most agile of the dragons in the Weyr. Greens will rise 3-4 times a turn, though they are infertile and do not produce eggs. Greens often rise towards the end of a gold's mating flight because of the emotions a mating flight produces.Mating Flights
Because of the bond between rider and dragon, the emotions caused by a mating flight overwhelm the riders. The riders of the mating dragons engage in sex themselves, contributing to a much looser attitude toward sexuality among dragonriders.
Sex during mating flights is not optional for the rider. Thus, homosexual behavior caused by a mating flight is seen as separate from the riders involved unless their preference is homosexual or bisexual. Similarly, it is not considered cheating when two riders engage in sex as a reaction to a mating flight.
Greens and golds both broadcast their sexual feelings during a mating flight. Flights are usually not over the Weyr, which can cause unexpected reactions from the local Holders or Crafters in the flight path.
Riders of the losing dragons usually seek sexual relief after the intense flight, and the weyr folk are usually more than willing to accommodate these riders.
