With the perfected creation of synthetic blood, by the Japanese, the existence and revelation of vampires became possible. In the event known as the Great Revelation Vampires emerged from their coffins into the world of humans. Their arrival received both support and controversy from Fangbangers to opposition groups such as the Fellowship of the Sun. In Louisiana, which has one of the highest populations of vampires in the U.S., Sookie Stackhouse is getting first taste of the supernatural world. Her life as a waitress in a bar at Bon Temps is redefined as she meets her very first vampire Bill Compton

Bill Compton has returned to claim his old home in Louisiana and his relationship with Sookie is nothing short of scandalous. Sookie's world continues to expand as Sheriff Eric Northman takes an interest in her, her brother is accused of murder and the world of the supernatural begins to unravel one species at a time. Bon Temps seems to be high on the energy of the supernatural, but it doesn't stop there.

The Fellowship of the Sun have seemingly captured Godric the ancient Sheriff of area 9 in Dallas. Fearing for the worst, Eric is forced to call upon the help of Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton, leading them temporarily away from the temporarily peaceful town of Bon Temps. Lafayette goes missing in the human world and leaves Merlotte's without a cook drawing suspicions of yet more murders.

A popular social worker comes into town by the name of Maryann Forrester. The stranger comes to awaken Sam's past and the events that follow her arrival define her shady character as she turns the town of Bon Temps upside down. Outside the realm of humans trouble is stirring amongst the vampire community. A rebel group known as the Republic of Mercenaries is challenging the power of the Authority. Forcing the monarchs to take up arms in a civil war that could change the face of the Nation.

The world of the supernatural is on the verge of explosion and as the peace and tranquility of Bon Temps and the Nation begins to unravel, can Sookie and Bill stand the tests of their bond? Will they remain together or be torn apart by two very different worlds... it all starts with one bite.
