Some questions before I make up my mind

Hello everyone,

I am quite interested in a Pern roleplay, and this board is the first in many that I looked at that caught my attention. However, I to get a feeling on whether I might fit in, I still have a couple more questions:

I haven't found anything about a mandatory word count, but see that the posts so far are quite long. I *love* those, and at times I am sure I'll match that, but my average post (depending on the scene) is shorter.

From the timeline I gathered that all the things about the AVIs kicking the red star out of orbit happened, so the red star is gone - or is that? Honestly, I am not sure. There seems to be something like a loophole in the decription. Or is that just wishful thinking?
I am one of those people who are really sad that Anne McCaffrey pretty much killed the premise the world within the first triology. Another reason is that (because I don't like those whole spaceships/grubs/get rid of the red star thing a lot) I haven't read too many of the later books, so I wonder if I would still be able to keep up or if there'll be a lot of references to those?

Okay... Basically here's what's going on with AVIAS- right now thread is pretty much out the window... right now. Later on something may happen where that changes, but right now it is gone. (And I am also sad that she got rid of it... despite everything...)

Also, in terms of a mandatory word count there isn't one. There's a couple reasons for this- I want alot of activity (now that I got a new computer, that'll be easier for me, lol...) Also, I understand there are days when you just don't want/have writer's block/can't post a super long post. My answer is please just post a similar length in response to what's going on- this way everyone's happy.

Thank you. I think I have a better idea now about what to expect. While I am still a little concerned about the word count thing - honestly, unless I am really inspired it's unlikely I'll get near what I see around here - I think I might give it a shot. It'll be another week or two, though. My online time is pretty limited right now, and I don't like joining a place when I don't have the time to really dive in right away.
